Oakley CA

Just saw crossing the road today and it did it better than some teenagers I've seen.

two sucky shot thursday

Oakley, CA

None of my 20 shots turned out well today. So here is the least suckiest of the batch. The first is a car that has seen better days and the other comes from a gathering of 9 firetrucks for a fallen fire fighter's funeral.

that katie girl

john's picks

John liked this one better
John was just awed by this one and the next one
These were taken on Stage at the InterStake Center in Oakland. I used to work full time during the summer on this stage for ten summers straight.

I should really consider buying a tripod to stop myself from having blurry shots.

firey Sunset

Bay Point Marina, CA

According to Arnold, there are 700+ wildfires in Northern CA. I had clients staying home from therapy because their fragile immune systems can't handle the smoke.

(This picture is blurry because of the smoke in the air, not because of my camera.)

Backside of the temple

Oakland CA

I was in San Leandro for a meeting today and snapped this shot as I drove through Oakland on the way home. This is the backside of the LDS Church Temple.

Running to Second

San Jose, CA

My dad took me to go see the San Jose Giants tonight. (San Jose is not to be confused with that other horrible team based in San Fran.)

8 loaves

Antioch, CA

Wednesday night I was off from my second job and was able to finally make bread. From this one and one just as big I make 8 loaves (two not shown) and will make 4 more on Thursday night (maybe).

New Shocks

Antioch, CA

I got new shocks on my truck today. I've had bad shocks for 12 months and every time I stopped in traffic my truck would rock like I was on a boat. I'm back to having land legs. Go me.

Driveby Sunset

Antioch, CA

I had no where to pullover and take this picture so I just rolled down my window and slowed as much as I could to get this shot.

Beached Turtle

Stinson Beach, CA

I haven't been to Stinson Beach in about 15 years and I must admit, I wasn't all that impressed. It will probably be a good while before I return.

Remembering Tim

Antioch, CA

Tonight after I got home from my two jobs, I turned on my computer to follow the MSNBC coverage of their deceased reporter. I'll be honest - I wasn't watching it because of some endearment to Tim Russert. I LOVE listening to Tom Brokaw report. In case you've never read it, might I suggest two books by Tom that I love and might I suggest you buy them on CD and listen to Tom read them to you.

A long way from home
The greatest Generation

I think I will try Big Russ and Me. Hopefully it will be as good as Tom's books or even Koppel's. (Hopefully it won't suck like McCain's book)

Strapped out

I have a client that manages to wiggle his feet out of his shoes - no matter how many straps we use or how we use them.

Still down

Antioch, CA

After two weeks, the internet is still down. What I thought would be a simple task - my roommate is still struggling to get us back on line. On Wednesday night I'm going to drive down to Fremont and upload on my dad's internet. John promises me the internet will be up by July.

Bella Rosa Fountain

Antioch, CA

I took this picture from my truck to remind me to come back and take pictures here again some other day. Then, I didn't get to take pictures at all the rest of the day. I will probably revisit this some day because this is not the shot I intended.

Chop Cop

Antioch, CA

I came home tonight to 4 cops with shotguns running down the street two streets over. Then on my street was 5 additional cop cars. Overhead was the county Sheriff's helicopter. Instead of going and photographing the men with guns (because I knew my father would kill me if I did), I opted to take pictures of the circling helicopter.

It's so nice to be back in a state where they give you stickers for voting. Idaho doesn't give out stickers.

Antioch, CA

I hate doing sprinkler work for money. I always tell people to donate to my four favorite charities or to feed me. The house I'm working at now paid me in fresh strawberries, fresh cherries and fresh blueberries yesterday.
