Cubed Steak Special

This is the first time I wasn't 100% satisfied with a my Lumpy's Lunch. It was good. It was an 8 or 9 out of 10. But it just wasn't a ten. I think it was missing two things for me. It needed to come with bread and it needed to be more filling. (I had the soup below to help make up the lack of filling). The roasted tomatoes were delicious. The onions were good. I never have been one for green peppers - but I think the thing for me was it just wasn't filling like Lumpy's always is.

Fiesta Burger

Today I had the Fiesta Burger at Lumpy's. It has lettuce, chips, salsa, cheese, guacamole, tomatoes and other stuff on it. It was probably the first burger in 2 years that I had that didn't require ketchup to eat.

Soup at Lumpy's

Today at lunch I had a soup and sandwich. It was really good. It was so good that I bought a little extra soup and took it to Amy's tonight for dinner.

A Day in the Life of Sean

Yesterday at work there were two people in the building struggling with some software. They struggled for 90 minutes before coming over to the therapy unit and asking for my help. I fixed their problem in 10 minutes. They were both so grateful. One brought me in a half loaf of Pumpkin Bread. The other brought me this. I'm so happy I'm so loved.

I finally got to talk to the head chef today at Lumpy's. Scotty confirmed for me that these potatoes come from Idaho. So I fully endorse these potatoes.

Turkey "Sandwich" Dinner

Today the special at Lumpy's was open face Turkey Sandwiches. It was really good, though I might suggest that if you get it - ask for extra gravy. The bread really soaks it up.
(Once again I was unable to confirm if the potatoes were from Idaho so I can't attest to their quality.)

Lumpy Rims

Meatloaf Sandwich ** Post Edit

Man I just love a waitress that can read your mind. All week long I have been thinking "When I go to Lumpy's this week I want something different. I need something different." I walked in all ready to demand a menu. As I walked in, my waitress came up to me in a rush: "We have something new and I instantly thought of you when they unveiled it." It was sooo good. However, it was not totally filling so I asked for the dessert menu (a first for me at Lumpy's). Today I came the closest to tasting my mother's cheesecake than any other time in the 6 years since her death. If you live nearby - take an opportunity to indulge yourself. You won't regret it.



**Post edit - I never found out if the mashed potatoes were from Idaho or not so I can't speak for their quality - but they tasted good.

Left Behind

It was recently discovered that I had lost 20 pounds in the last 90 days. Everyone is asking me how I did it. One of the things I did was change my mindset. I was raised to clean your plate. I was raised to appreciate your blessings that we had because there are starving children else where. To lose weight I had to learn to walk away from left over food, like I did today at Lumpy's.

My waitress won out today twice. She suggested the ball tip sandwich which I agreed to eat and I agreed to cherry coke.

Dum Dum Irony

When I got to Lumpy's today my waitress tried to convince me I was going to have Vanilla or Cherry Coke. I was in a little bit of a grumpy mood (low on sleep) so I told her I was interested in my regular Coke. Well, when you get ready to leave there are these Dum Dums in a bowl that I think are free (I sure hope they are free. I take one everytime). I took one without looking. It was a Cherry Coke Dum Dum. It looks like she was right - I was having Cherry Coke today.

Meatball Sandwich

I went to Lumpy's today for my weekly lunch adventure. Today my waitress suggested the Meatball Sandwich. It was so good. It had a sesame seed hot dog bun on the bottom, then meatballs (5 or 6) then spaghetti noodles, then sauce then cheese then some green stuff sprinkled on top. It was a whole lot better than the meatball sandwich I'm used to getting at Subway. Today I also added a Lumpy's label - which should make it easier to find pictures of Lumpy's food.

For the last two trips to Lumpy's my waitress has convinced me to "think outside the box" and "get away from only having a hamburger." Today she talked me into this chicken sandwich. She has yet to talk me out of my Coke, though.

Quarters for cholesterol

After the ride on Monday, I kept waiting for the hurt to kick in. It never did. It turns out 6 miles - on a bike with low tires, squeeky breaks, and a need-to-be-lubed chain - isn't too much for me and thus I don't really need to train for the 10 miler in September. So today I went to back Lumpy's for lunch.

The cheeseburger I'm going to miss

On Monday my help was requested. In late September I will ride my bike for team BORP not Bombs. The fundraiser is an effort by BORP to raise money. BORP provides competitive and recreational sports for people with disabilities. (I used to be an assistant coach for their Power Soccer program).
Next week I'll start training for the bike ride which means days where beauties like this are enjoyed are going to be less often. I'm glad to help BORP, but I'll miss burgers from Lumpy's.
