The Pear is a Harry & David "Royal Riviera" reject. It was "rejected" because it was too big to fit in the very, very expensive "Royal Riviera Pear" gift boxes H&D sell for Christmas. I got two nearly ripe ones for me at the Harry & David factory store in Medford. The one I ate was delicious but too big for one person. The produce manager also selected one for me to take to Chad's house. It is now almost ripe and the four of us will share it in a few days. Check out the expensive fruit I share with my kids:
