Tie Die

Antioch, CA

I went to take off my tie tonight and when it got to the knot the frail threads gave way and the tie became two. This was a tie my brother gave me when he thought it was on its last leg. I nursed it for a few more years until tonight. And I really liked that tie!

  2. It wasn't cute but it was dignified. It had these dark blue grapes on it. it was a nice conservative tie.

  3. I would have never have let your brother out of the house in that tie! I deny that your brother ever owned said tie while involved with me.

  4. I remember it from before he went to college. It's been in our family for probably 15 years.

  5. Honey if that tie is what dignified looks like do me a favor and stay as far away from that look as possible. (by the way you should post this so your friends can see that I am witty at times too:)

  6. Not dignified, conservative.

There are three types of ties out there:
    A. Conservative
    B. Liberal
    C. Ones that signal Monica Lewinsky that's she's going to be on her knees all night.

    Mine was a conservative tie.

  7. I know a fair amount of conservative dressers and none of them would be caught dead in that tie. I will pilfer the closet and send your Dad home with Liz approved ties.

  8. Nina says that she agrees with you, Liz. Additionally she has made comments about cleaning up my wardrobe in general. All of the women in my life are trying to put different clothes on me.

  9. Chad finally checked that post and told me that was the tie he wore to 8th grade graduation. I think that puts everything into context.

  10. 31 - 13 = ...Okay, so maybe longer than 15 years. But I think that Chad's statements back me up. For his 8th grade graduation, Chad would have wanted to be dignified, conservative & respectable. What a great tie for such an occasion!
